It's not going to be a racer, but I'd like to see just how far I can go with the stock components, when they are able to be adjusted in a scientific manner.Backed by efficient European manufactory producing exclusively for Magnum Tuning US, I may be able to tune the entire engine system by recalibrating some of the EGR components actuation points and tweaking when things occur. I can monitor live engine performance data while driving using my laptop computer! This would allow me to fine tune my carburetor over it's entire range by changing jets, adjusting mixture, power valve, & etc. It has a wideband oxygen sensor for measuring a wide range of air/fuel mixtures, and a clamp on ignition pickup. I just bought an Innovate LM-1 air/fuel ratio analyzer, and also an LM-2. I intend to have some fun with the B-250 and turn it into a sort of science experiment. It is mostly being used for trips to the building supply stores, and storing stuff a far cry from it's glory days. The '79, which was my high school baby, has seen better days. I've got two golden oldies a 1979 B-100 and my "new" 1981 B-250 custom Sportsman, which I'm still debugging. If anyone has got suggestions please do tell me I am looking for a Direct-Fit cat. I know I am going to get a new one soon just don't know witch one yet. The only Problem I am having with it right now is the Cat is rattling like crazy its really quite a loud rattle especially when its Idling. And I replaced the stock stereo Head unit with a Pioneer P780MP.Įasy for a large guy such as myself to get in and out.Īnd I just think all pre-Sprinter Dodge Vans look damn cool. I just had the transmission rebuild 500 Miles ago after it died on my way home from a trip to NJ. I installed a Fastman throttle body and a K&N Air Filter to help out on the hilly roads of the Poconos, witch it did a wonderful Job at and got rid of the lag when I stepped on the gas. So today I decided to introduce myself and my Van.Ī 1997 SW Primetime Conversion Dodge 2500 Van powered by a 3.9L v6 with 74k Miles Hey Everyone, my name is Ray and I found this site a while ago signed up but didn't post. So like the song says, "I'm ready.ready as anybody can be, "

(I had to do a bit of "hammer work" on the front wheel wells to clear the tires.) It came with a killer sound system, Sony in dash CD, 600w Kenwood amp, Fosgate speakers, plus it has all the standard RV stuff. The original tire wheel combo was 8.75x16.5 but I changed them for American Outlaws with LT 2.45/75x16. The original two tone metallic blue seats are mint! I changed the rim/tire setup almost before i got the unit home. I'm gonna change out the seats for some later models with arm/headrest. It's way cool, although it is a bit large for a daily driver. I had a couple of vans (Chevy) back in the day, but this is my first van since then. I haven't gotten to the mileage yet.filling that 37gal tank is a scary thought! The steering's a little loose (I hope I can adjust the box) and I need to have the rocker panels redone but all in good time. The tranny is a 727 torqueflite and mechanically everything seems good. It's a '77 Xplorer (based on a 3500 maxi)with 122k miles.
